A few days before I left for Argentina I was able to go to the huntington botanical gardens with Triniti and some other friends. When I first heard about spending a whole day at a garden I expected it to be boring…but It wasn't! Despite the heat it was actually really pretty. There are a ton of different gardens, which you can visit. They all have different themes. The Japanese garden was my favorite. It looked like you were actually in Japan, they had a bridge over a river and they had a replica of what a house would look like there.

I Turned 16! - By Jessica
Hi everyone! Last week I turned 16! I always used to look up to 16 year olds. They were so old and mature to me and then I became one and quickly learned that age does not determine maturity. 😂😂 I ended up having a party. Well two in the same day I guess. The first part of the day was spent with some women who I have grown up with and who know my mom well. We had a more formal lunch and then moved to the living room where the mom's read letters of encouragement and advice to me. I expected it to be extremely awkward and weird but as time went on I realized that it wasn't that bad. In fact I enjoyed hearing the letters.

Fandoms: By Jessica
Hi again readers! Today I will be talking about fandoms! I was thinking about all the different fandoms and have realized that I have a ton of them. I actually looked up the word "fandom" and there was a real dictionary definition. Fandom means: the state or condition of being a fan of someone or something. The fans of a particular person, team, fictional series, etc., regarded collectively as a community.

Happy Valentines Day!!: By Jessica
Happy Valentines Day! I can't believe that it's already the middle of February! Well Valentines Day isn't a huge deal for me and my family. We usually carry on with our normal routine. For a lot of people Valentines day means flowers, chocolates, and love. I'm single so I don't run into any of the hassle of preparing for Valentines day (which is actually pretty nice). Here is a funny video I found about Valentines day which I think you'll enjoy.

My Vacation at the Hotel Del: By Jessica
Hi everyone! It's been awhile since my last post…sorry I've been busy! Hope your Christmas and New Year were amazing! It was nice to get a break from the stress of school but now I'm back into it. Over my break I took a small vacation with my family to the Hotel Del in San Diego. It was super pretty! We were able to ice-skate on the beach! It was a very cool experience. The Hotel Del is a very historical place. There are many important people (including the president) who visited there. It's been around since February 1888! Here are some historical pictures of the hotel Del.

How to Make Chocolate-Dipped Pretzel sticks: By Jessica
Hi everyone! It's Christmas Eve! Yay! Today I will teaching you how to make chocolate dipped pretzel sticks. These are super easy and can be decorated many different ways. All you need is a bag or two of semi-sweet chocolate chips or white (whichever you prefer), a bag of thick pretzel sticks, an assortment of sprinkles, and a bag of colored chocolate (optional). Make sure to use good quality chocolate…it will taste better.

Contentment: By Jessica
During this Christmas season we tend to focus on receiving gifts, wanting things, and coveting other peoples things. The real reason for Christmas is Jesus being born so that he can die for our sins and give Christians eternal life in heaven with him. We tend to forget the real meaning of Christmas and focus on the worlds view. The world's view of Christmas is about Santa, presents, and lots of food. Now that doesn't mean we can't enjoy these things but we can't take our focus off of God.

Silent Night Study - By Jessica
Hi everyone! As Anna had said in her latest post we will be doing a series of posts about Christmas songs. Today I will be talking about the song "Silent Night." Silent night was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber and written by Joseph Mohr in the small town of Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria. The carol was written originally in German and was made up of six stanzas. Here are the lyrics of the original song in both German and English.

Horseback Riding - Jessica
Hi everyone! Sorry it has taken so long to post! I've been sick with a bad cold and you know how that goes. Anyway I'll be talking today about one of my favorite hobbies…Horseback riding! I love working with and riding horses. I've ridden here and there when I was younger but a little over a year ago is when I started to consistently ride. I rode with Anna every week and It was really fun! We got to ride along many different trails, once we even got to cross a river! Trail riding is my favorite because of all the scenery, it's much better than riding in a dirt ring. Here are some pictures of me riding (some of them with Anna).

Scripture Art: By Jessica
Hi again readers! I am so excited about my post today! Recently I have discovered how to create scripture art on the Bible app I have on my phone. If you aren't familiar with this, scripture art is when you take a photo and put a Bible verse on it. So if I am reading a passage in the Bible that I enjoy and would like to remember I just make a Scripture art for it.

We stayed for a week with some friends in a nice cabin with a great view. Once we arrived we were surprised to see the the vast amount of green pine trees and blue sky just from our back porch!

PHOTOGRAPHY BY: JESSICA
Hi readers! I haven't posted for a while but I am excited to post again! Summer just started a week ago for me and it's been great so far. I've finally been able to relax after my first year of high school…I've noticed that high school is much harder and different than junior high and elementary school. You're probably wondering when I'm going to start talking about my post so here it is.

About Me - Jessica Edition
Hi everyone! I'm Jessica. I'm so excited to start regularly posting on our blog! I love writing so this is right up my alley. I just turned 15! I can't wait to start driving in a few months. I was born in Houston, Texas and have two younger sisters, whom I love a lot. I have the cutest golden retriever named Duke. He is three but still acts like a puppy. I don't feel much different from being 14 and I still have the same interests.
