Contentment: By Jessica

During this Christmas season we tend to focus on receiving gifts, wanting things, and coveting other peoples things. The real reason for Christmas is Jesus being born so that he can die for our sins and give Christians eternal life in heaven with him. We tend to forget the real meaning of Christmas and focus on the worlds view. The world's view of Christmas is about Santa, presents, and lots of food. Now that doesn't mean we can't enjoy these things but we can't take our focus off of God.

Also, while we are receiving and giving gifts we need to make sure that we are thankful for what we have. We need to be content. Our world is growing more and more discontent with what we have. We continually want more regardless of how much we already have. In 1 Timothy 6:6 it says, "But godliness with contentment is great gain." In 1 Timothy 6:8 it says "if we have food and clothing we will be content with that." We need to make sure that we are content with whatever we have and be grateful for what we do receive this Christmas and throughout the year. Stay tuned for some more posts!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
