My East Coast Trip ~ New York City, NY: By Jessica

Hi again readers! Last week I posted about my trip to Boston, MA. Today I will be talking to you about the second part of my trip to New York City, NY. I have been to NYC once before when I was around ten years old. I was very excited to return again to the big city so soon! NYC wasn't as amazing as I remembered but we also did 10x more walking than last time. Despite the weird smells, crowds of people (it was a holiday weekend), and the constant city noise I enjoyed seeing spots were movies were filmed and all of the well known places historic and modern.

We traveled by the am-track express to get from Boston, MA to New York City, NY.

*TIP!: The am-track is a great way to travel from state to state. The ride is relatively short and inexpensive and it is cool to see all the views from the windows as you glide by. There is also plenty of room with a food place and tables at your seat to work on (and storage for all of your luggage.) The only thing I would suggest you do when traveling by am-track is to get there a little early before boarding so that you can get good seats. (especially if you are traveling in a group and want to sit together.)

The moment we stepped foot off the train we were swept away with the large crowd of people who all seemed to be on some sort of mission.

Since we already saw the Statue of Liberty our last visit we decided to tour the 9/11 memorial (which was being built last time we were in NYC). Although it was depressing to see all of the lives lost and tragic things that happened during that time, it was very enlightening and well made.

Shown above is a picture of a Fire Truck that was damaged during 9/11.

My favorite part of the monument were the man-made waterfalls which were lined with the names of the 9/11 victims.

Moving on we walked part of the Brooklyn Bridge, which is a really neat spot for pictures.

Pictured above is Central Park.

Since it was memorial day weekend the empire state building was lit in red, white, and blue.

We rode the subway EVERYWHERE! Once you learn how to use it, it is a lifesaver!

This is also at central park.

There were so many horses in Central Park!

This was in the tonight shows shop where the studio is!

For all the fangirls/boys out there!

The Cathedrals here are SO PRETTY!

There were always street performers, musicians, dancers, and artists that make walking around NYC even more fun!

This was taken on Wall Street!

We ate at this place called "Black Tap" Burgers and shakes. We had to wait an hour in line to get in but it is completely worth it! They have phenomenal burgers and their shakes are huge! We ordered three shakes and split them. What makes the shakes unique are their toppings. Each shake glass is dipped and rolled into something that goes with the theme of the flavor. They also stick entire candy bars (still in their wrappers) into the shake! In my cookies and cream shake they put a whole ice-cream sandwich on the top of it! It is defenintly a place you should visit at least once in your life.

Later that day we went to Grand Central Station and Time Square. (Pictured below)

NYC is a fun place to spend the weekend. There are countless things to do and the energy there is infectious!

I hope you enjoyed my post this week! Stay tuned to hear about the rest of my east coast trip!
